Hambledon Hill Revealed

I am so enjoying painting all these trees and branches. I hope this has a feel of the past , Hambledon Hill is an old earth works and in sight of our house. I was going to call the picture ” Are we nearly there ?” as this view appears and vanishes only to re appear when you are nearly at the top.

These are sites well known to those of us who live in Dorset, Maiden Castle and Hod Hill being just two more similar mounds.

By the shining big sea water This was inspired by Fallen Log which I painted earlier in the year. I wondered if I could do it in snow! When I did, some of the shadows looked so like teepees I decided to follow that theme. It is named after a passage from Hiawatha.
